Born in Montréal, Québec, Canada, in the late 70's. Caro is (for the most part) a self taught abstract artist, web, and graphic designer extraordinaire, and creator of the My Venus Portrait Project!
Her remarkable talents for the visual arts could be seen as early as two years old. As a child, she loved studying the human form, reading about the old masters, abstract movements, and perfecting her artistic abilities. She painted her first abstract oil painting at the tender age of 12. In high school she joined the theatre troupe where she went on to win several awards from the Sears Drama Festival for her makeup and costume designs.
In the fall of 1995, Caro enrolled in the Art Fundamentals Program at Sheridan College and graduated with honours. She then chose to transfer into Sheridan's Bachelor of Design program. After her first year of study, Caro dropped out and set out for British Columbia where she discovered her other passion: Technology!
From 1998 to 2005 Caro studied for the A+, i-Net+, CCNA, and MCSE certifications and gained a wide variety of hands on experience working in the Automotive, Electrical, Medical, and Cable industries. A recipient of multiple customer service awards, she was featured in corporate newsletters, designed, developed, and integrated an incident reporting system, and a knowledge base.
2005 to 2008 brought about life threatening health challenges that manifested in a complete personality and lifestyle change.
Shifting her interests from the material to the spiritual. Caro became a Reiki Practitioner & Teacher in March 2005. This is where her intuitive gifts became hightened only to discover that she was an empath. Shortly after moving to the prairies, Caro used her empathic abilities for peer counseling, and healing deep emotional wounds in others. This allowed her to connect and learn from people of various race, age, gender, orientation, and religious backgrounds.
Upon her return to Ontario in January 2008, friends suggested she get back into doing Art. However, Caro had chosen to ignore her divine gift and life purpose out of embarrassment. This was based on her beliefs that being an artist would mean she'd be "poor" and around "flaky" people. But she pushed passed those beliefs. For the first time in her life (other than once when she was 12), she began painting. She was 30 years old.
Following her intuition, she created www.caroartstudio.com and www.myvenusportrait.com. A powerful new way of using art to empower women everywhere simply by changing their perception of the most intimate aspect of their physical selves without losing its core essence.
Caro herself has had to endure several painful reconstructive surgeries as a child. Causing her to have a very low sense of self esteem and self-identity in her teens and 20's. It wasn't until she weighed over 400lbs, lost her career, divorced, and was housebound for nearly 3 years. That she finally gained the ability to see herself as somebody beautiful and deserving of receiving love. That's why she set out to find a way to help other women heal from their own emotional wounds while boosting their self-esteem. My Venus Portraits is receiving much attention. People are raving about the project.
This website is a real life manifestation of the expression "Build it and they shall come." Because that's exactly what has happened. For three years, Caro has been empowering, healing, and exploring the power of feminine energy through art.
